WhatsApp Will Control Problem of International spam Calls in India, Government to send Notice to Company
WhatsApp said that on its platform, users are given the options to block and report to avoid unwanted calls and messages. Along with this, the use of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning is also being increased due to which the number of spam calls can be reduced to half. whatsapp “Our users are very important to us. The statement read, “We have strengthened our artificial intelligence and machine learning systems to reduce these cases. This will reduce such calls to half.” Earlier, Minister of State for IT Rajeev Chandrasekhar had said that his ministry will send a notice to WhatsApp on the problem of calls coming from unknown international numbers. He said that it is the responsibility of digital platforms to ensure the security of users and they are accountable for it. If the privacy of users is violated on any such platform, the government will take appropriate action.
In the last few days, WhatsApp users in the country have been receiving international spam calls. Many users had complained about this on social media platforms like Twitter. Truecaller, which provides caller identification service on mobile phones, has prepared to provide this service on WhatsApp also. This will make it easier for users to avoid spam calls on the internet. This feature is in beta phase and can be launched soon. In this regard, Truecaller had said in a report that users in India receive an average of 18 spam calls per month.
