Motorola and Nokia both launched their affordable Moto G5 and Nokia 5 handsets in Barcelona. There is one important similarity between these two – the use of Snapdragon 430 processor. These smartphones come with great specifications and make their place in the affordable segment. And both also give tough competition to each other. Both the companies will also compete with other smartphone manufacturing companies in this range segment.

Moto G5 and Nokia 5 compete with Xiaomi Redmi 3S Prime. Xiaomi is a big player in the mid-range segment and the Redmi 3S Prime offers great specifications at a very affordable price. Know how all these smartphones compete with each other on paper.

Price of Moto G5, Nokia 5 and Redmi 3S Prime
Xiaomi Redmi 3S Prime was launched in August 2016 for Rs 8,999. If we compare Nokia 5 and Moto G5, these smartphones have not reached India yet. The price of 2 GB RAM / 16 GB storage variant of Moto G5 is 199 Euro (about Rs 14,000) while the price of Nokia 5 has been kept at 189 Euro (about Rs 13,500).

Nokia 5 has a 5.2 inch display while the other two phones have a 5 inch display. However, if we look at resolution, Moto G5 wins with full-HD resolution. While both the other phones have HD resolution. As we told that all three smartphones have Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor. The Redmi 3S Prime has 3 GB RAM while the Moto G5 also has 3 GB RAM (however, this variant costs more). Compared to Nokia 5, this phone has 2 GB RAM and 16 GB storage. Redmi 3S Prime has 32 GB inbuilt storage and Moto G5 smartphone will be available in 16 GB and 32 GB storage variants. The storage of all these smartphones can be expanded up to 128 GB through microSD card slot.

All three phones have a 13-megapixel rear camera with flash support. Talking about the front, Redmi 3S Prime and Moto G5 have 5 megapixel camera while Nokia 5 MPS has 8 megapixel selfie camera. Redmi 3S Prime has the largest battery of 4100 mAh. Nokia 5 has a 3000 mAh battery and Moto G5 has a 2800 mAh battery.

Nokia 5 and Moto G5 run on the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat and Android 7.0 Nougat respectively. Whereas Redmi 3S Prime runs on the old Android 6.0.1 based MIUI 7. All three phones have dual-SIM support. (Nano SIM for Nokia and Micro-SIM for Redmi 3S Prime)

Features of Moto G5, Nokia 5 and Redmi 3S Prime
All three smartphones come with metal design. Moto G5 has a removable battery. The fingerprint scanner is integrated into the home button in Nokia 5 and Moto G5, whereas the fingerprint sensor is provided on the rear in Redmi 3S Prime.

All three smartphones look good on paper. However, the prices of these phones are expected to drop when they reach India. The Redmi 3S Prime offers great specifications at an affordable price. Nokia and Motorola phones run on the latest software and because of this they are slightly ahead of the older Redmi 3S Prime.
