Who is better in performance, gaming and battery life?
Motorola One Fusion+ vs Poco X2: specifications
Motorola One Fusion+ (Review) and Poco X2 (Review) uses the same processor. Both phones come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G chipset. There are three variants to choose from in Poco X2 – 6GB RAM and 64GB storage, 6GB RAM and 128GB storage and finally the high-end 8GB RAM and 256GB storage variant. These three variants are priced at Rs 17,499, Rs 18,499 and Rs 21,499 respectively. At the same time, Motorola has launched One Fusion + in India only with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, which is now priced at Rs 17,499.
Both smartphones have seen a price hike since their launch. The Poco X2’s price was hiked for the second time with the latest revision coming last month. The Motorola One Fusion+, on the other hand, was launched shortly after and the phone’s price was hiked.
The Poco X2 has a 6.67-inch LCD display, while the Motorola One Fusion + has a 6.5-inch display. Both panels are HDR 10 certified, however, the Poco X2 gets a high refresh rate display, which gives a smooth scrolling experience and also enhances the gaming experience. You get the option to change the color output of both displays. The Poco X2 uses Corning Gorilla Glass 5 for protection, while there is no protection for the Motorola display.
The Poco X2 and Motorola One Fusion+ come with dual 4G VoLTE capabilities and both come with a hybrid dual-SIM slot. This means that the user can either use two SIMs or one SIM and a microSD card to expand the storage. However, 128GB of storage should be enough for most users. Still, the Poco X2 offers a 256GB storage option and the Motorola One Fusion+ lacks it. Both smartphones support Bluetooth 5, dual-band Wi-Fi, and multiple navigation systems.
Both the Motorola One Fusion+ and Poco X2 run Android 10. However, there is a big difference here. The UI on the Motorola One Fusion+ gives a stock Android experience with some gesture-based shortcuts called Moto Actions. There are no unwanted apps pre-installed, which is the best thing. On the other hand, the Poco phones come with some bloatware. We faced a lot of spam notifications on the Poco X2 when we reviewed it. Both these smartphones offer many options for customization. Overall, we liked the clean, almost stock-like operating system on the Motorola phone.
Poco X2 vs Motorola One Fusion+ performance
Both the Motorola One Fusion+ and Poco X2 offer good performance and we didn’t notice any lag on either device. With its 120Hz display, scrolling through the Poco X2’s UI was a smooth experience. Both smartphones have fast fingerprint scanners. The Poco X2 gets quick face unlock, which the Motorola One Fusion+ didn’t have, though that doesn’t spoil the fun of using the phone.
The screens of both the smartphones look quite bright even in outdoor light, but while watching videos, we found that the Motorola One Fusion+ offers better contrast. The bottom-mounted speaker on this device is also loud, which enhances the content viewing experience.
We also benchmarked the Motorola One Fusion+ and Poco X2. In AnTuTu, the One Fusion+ scored 273,407 points, while the Poco X2 got 280,912 points. In Geekbench 5’s single-core and multi-core tests, the Motorola One Fusion+ scored 548 and 1,691 respectively, while the Poco X2 got 548 and 1,759 points. We couldn’t compare graphics performance via benchmarks, as the Poco X2 refused to run 3DMark and GFXbench. The difference between the two smartphones wasn’t too much in terms of performance. It’s also important to note that we had the top-of-the-line 8GB RAM variant of the Poco X2.
You can easily game on both devices. Both the phones managed to run PUBG Mobile on the high preset and the game ran without any lag. The battery life on these smartphones is also similar and you can run both of them for a day and a half with average usage on a single charge. In our HD video loop test, the Motorola One Fusion+ with its bigger battery gave a backup of 15 hours and 45 minutes. On the other hand, the Poco X2 lasted for 13 hours and 45 minutes. The charging time of both is also different. The Poco X2 charges faster than the One Fusion+ due to its fast charger and smaller battery.
