Will the Lost Asteroid 2007 FT3 hit the Earth in 2024 Nasa gave latest update

Lost Asteroid News: An asteroid has remained a puzzle for scientists for almost 20 years. The asteroid named ‘2007 FT3’ had disappeared from sight two decades ago, meaning scientists had lost track of it. Since then ‘2007 FT3’ came to be known as the ‘Lost Asteroid’. A report in November last year claimed that a lost asteroid could hit our planet in 2024. Let us know what the American space agency has said on these claims.

A report in GB News claimed that ‘2007 FT3’ is likely to collide with the Earth. It was said in the report that an asteroid can harm our planet on October 5, 2024. Scientists first spotted the rocky disaster in 2007, but lost track of it after some time.

Nasa on the possibility of asteroid hitting the Earth Said That there is no danger of its impact on Earth in the next century. The space agency said that NASA and its partners keep a close eye on the sky to find and track asteroids and other objects.

Interestingly, the ‘2007 FT3’ asteroid weighed 54 million tonnes. Looking at its track, scientists considered it potentially dangerous for the Earth. NASA considers such objects that come closer to the Earth up to 8 million kilometers potentially dangerous for the Earth.

What is Asteroid?

According to NASA, these are also called minor planets. Just as all the planets in our solar system revolve around the Sun, similarly asteroids also revolve around the Sun. Asteroids are rocky remnants left over from the early formation of our solar system about 4.6 billion years ago. Scientists have so far detected 11 lakh 13 thousand 527 asteroids.
