Windows 10 launched, free upgrade available in 190 countries

Windows 7/ 8/ 8.1 users will get a free upgrade to Windows 10. Apart from this, new personal computers and tablets will also now come with this operating system. It is worth noting that the company had started the reservation system for upgrades earlier this month. The company had said that Windows 10 will be released in phases.
This American company has played a big gamble with the update release. Through this, the company is trying to resolve the complaints of customers disappointed with the shortcomings of Windows 8. Microsoft has included the good features of Windows 7 and Windows 8 in the new operating system. There will also be some new features in it. However, Windows 10 also has some shortcomings. This is by no means a perfect operating system.
Microsoft claims that Windows 10 is the most secure Windows ever. The company says that this operating system will be delivered as a service and it will keep updating automatically. Windows 10 is also being said to be the last version of Windows. The new Windows Store and Windows Software Development Kit were also made available on Wednesday so that developers can develop apps for this operating system to be used on multi-devices.
Soon new users will also be able to buy Windows 10 online and from retail stores. At present its price has not been announced in India. If seen from America, the price of Windows 10 Home is $119 (about Rs 7,500) and the price of Windows 10 Pro is $199 (about Rs 12,600).
Microsoft’s Windows 10 Pro Pack will be available for $99 (approximately Rs 6,300), by purchasing this pack, Windows 10 Home users can upgrade to Windows 10 Pro. This means you can upgrade from Windows 7 Starter, Windows 7 Home Basic, Windows 7 Home Premium, Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 Home without paying if you need the features of the ‘Pro’ version. If it happens, you can upgrade to Windows 10 Pro by spending $99. Suppose you are assembling a new PC and you start the setup by purchasing Windows 10 Home and later if you change your mind, you can upgrade to the Pro version by paying an amount of $99. However, doing so will cost you $19 more than purchasing Windows 10 Pro outright.
Speaking at the launch of Windows 10, Microsoft India Chairman Bhaskar Pramanik said, “Windows 10 is the best Windows ever. From today it will be available for free upgrade in 190 countries. Will also come with new PCs and tablets. It is more personal and productive. It is more safe and secure. It will also be very easy to use and it will be continuously updated. Nearly 1500 retail stores in India will help consumers upgrade to Windows 10.”
