Work from Home is over American banks are calling their employees to the office

Covid-19 i.e. Corona epidemic forced people to work from home, which became a habit with time. Now employees of many companies want to work from home, but the companies are forced to come to the office and work. Bloomberg’s one Report According to Citigroup Inc. (Citigroup Inc) and HSBC Holdings are calling most of their US employees to full-time offices. Earlier, these companies had adopted hybrid policy, in which one has to work some days in office and some days from home.

According to the report, the rules related to monitoring of offices are changing in America, due to which companies have changed their hybrid work policy. Citigroup has requested its 600 employees to return to office. All of them are doing remote work for their bank. The decision will also affect HSBC’s 350 employees, which is half of its total workforce in one US city. Speaking to Bloomberg, the bank’s America HR head Mabel Rius said that the bank is talking to its employees so that they can easily adopt this change.

Rius said that the company’s goal is to move towards full-time office work, but it will also try to provide remote work facilities to as many employees as possible.

The reason for this decision is America’s Financial Industry Regulatory Authority. It is the main watchdog for the American brokerage industry and is going to change its rules related to workplace monitoring in the next few weeks. It is said that if companies provide work from home facility to their employees even after the change in rules, they may have to face additional costs and other challenges.

Banks in the US are required to monitor their employees and conduct workplace inspections from time to time. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, regulators had temporarily relaxed the rules so that people could work from home. Now those rules are being abolished.

According to the report, Truist Financial Corp has recently told its investment banking staff that they will have to come to the office every weekday from June 1. Many other banks like Wall Street Bank, Bank of America Corp, JP Morgan and Goldman Sachs have started five day work in all their offices.
