World First 10G Cloud Broadband in China 90GB File Downloaded in 72 Seconds

Shanghai is setting new limits in technology by launching the world’s first 50G cloud broadband demonstration community working on 50G-PON technology. The initiative, launched by a partnership between China Telecom Shanghai Company and Yangpu District People’s Government, delivers power-fast internet speeds and an immersive digital experience.

The new service is called F5G-A (Enhanced All-Optical Network) which uses 50G-PON infrastructure to deliver the ultimate 10 Gigabit cloud broadband experience. You can download a 90GB, 2-hour 8K movie in just 72 seconds, a sharp contrast to the 12-minute time required with standard gigabit broadband.

10G networks promise to transform the way people live, work, and interact online. This allows one to experience crystal-clear, naked eye 3D displays or live-stream events with uninterrupted free-angle viewing. High bandwidth eliminates interruptions and provides a comfortable experience. Ultra-fast data transfer empowers smart home technology, providing quick syncing to a cloud-based storage solution or instant access to large files from a home server. With seamless sharing, real-time data processing, and easy communication, seamless cloud integration becomes a reality that works across all 10G networks.

The project serves as a plan for the construction of a 15-minute community living circle formulated by China Telecom and Yangpu District Government. The aim of this initiative is to create a better urban environment where residents can get everything they need, work, leisure, education and essential services within 15 minutes.
