Two biggest rivals of Redmi Note 3 lenovo vibe k4 note and LECO’s le ones Are. Will this smartphone of Xiaomi be able to register its presence in the smartphone category of less than Rs 15,000? Let’s see what we saw in the review of this phone.
Look and Design
Redmi Note 3 is very beautiful to look at and in gold color it gives you the feel of a premium smartphone. Made entirely of metal body, this phone has been given a matte finish. It is also easy to keep this smartphone clean by removing dust and dirt easily.

The front of the smartphone has a 5.5 inch Full HD IPS display. The design touch of the display is good but it feels a bit strange on the ear while making a call. The display is equipped with a scratch resistant layer. There is a 5-megapixel camera with a notification LED for alerts at the top. It’s nice to have a backlight on the capacitive buttons at the bottom. There are volume and power buttons on the right side while the hybrid dual-SIM tray is provided on the left side. There is also an infrared (IR) emitter along with a headphone socket at the top. Standard micro-USB connector can be used in the smartphone for data transfer and charging.

The rear has a fingerprint sensor, dual LED flash and a 16-megapixel camera along with a speaker grille at the bottom. You will receive the Redmi Note 3 with a 10-watt charger, data cable, SIM projector tool, and instruction leaflet. During the review, we found the quality of the accessory to be good and hope that it will serve you well.
We feel that Xiaomi has made the design of this phone very good. The finish of the phone is excellent and the display is also very clear and bright. The colors come out clearly in the IPS panel. Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 has Xiaomi’s Sunlight Display hardware feature, which allows you to see the screen easily even in sunlight.

The phone is convenient to hold in hand. Although using the phone with one hand may be a bit difficult, it is only 8.7 mm thin and very light.
Specifications
Even though the price of Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 budget smartphone is low, the hardware provided in this phone is no less than any premium smartphone. This is the first phone with Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 processor. Like the Snapdragon 808, the Moto The second is Cortex A-53 with four cores clocked at 1.4 GHz. However, the phone has the new Adreno 510 GPU for graphics.

Redmi Note 3 will be available in two variants. We have a variant with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage for review but if your budget is less then you can choose the 2GB RAM and 16GB storage variant at a price of Rs 9,999. The storage of this variant can be increased up to 32 GB with the help of microSD card in place of second SIM card in the hybrid SIM slot. Nowadays, where most of the phones have storage support of up to 128 GB or more, Redmi Note 3 lags a little behind there.

Equipped with Qualcomm chipset, this phone has Category 7 LTE feature for bands 3, 5, 40 and 41 along with VoLTE support. Along with this, there is also dual-band Wi-Fi B/G/N/AC, Bluetooth 4.1, USB OTG, FM Radio, Miracast, GLONASS. NFC feature is not provided in this phone.
software
The phone comes with Android Lollipop fork called MIUI 7. MIUI 7 is definitely an improvement over the previous version of MIUI. It has a single layer interface but users can customize it as per their choice with transition effects and themes.

Wallpaper scroll feature is provided in the lock screen of the phone, through which different wallpapers are visible from the collection selected by the user. There is also a lite mode for an easier and simpler interface. There is also a child mode to control children on the application.
The fingerprint sensor can recognize up to 5 fingerprints. Xiaomi Vice President Hugo Barra had given a statement during the phone launch that you can also record your lip pattern in the phone but we failed while trying to do so.

Apart from this, by signing up for Mi Account, you can get up to 5 GB cloud storage for your contacts, messages, photos etc. Using the Explorer app, you can also take the help of fingerprint sensor authentication to hide your private chats and messages.

Mi Mover application comes pre-installed in the phone, with the help of which you can transfer apps and data from another Android device. MIUI 7 supports 13 Indic languages.

performance
The hardware and software of Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 together give you a great experience. We did not see any problem in the interface during multitasking. The call quality of the phone is good.
Our review was stable except for the phone rebooting several times during benchmark tests. The phone does not heat up or feel uncomfortable during continuous video playback and video recording.

The bad thing that we noticed is that it takes a very long time for two SIMs to work together. We did not see this problem during the single SIM, but when we inserted the second SIM in the phone, it took a lot of time to detect it. At that time we saw ‘No Service’ message for more than 10 minutes. We did not get any help even after rebooting the phone. If you change SIM often in the phone then it can be a problem for you otherwise it will not make any difference to you. The fingerprint sensor in the phone works well and it works fast even when the phone is locked.

The Redmi Note 3 is a great phone for multimedia thanks to its crisp display. Audio speaker is good. The music player works well and you can switch between two different audio profiles using two different earphones. You can instantly share media with other Xiaomi devices through Mi Drop. In the 32 GB version, users will be able to use only 26.2 GB.
camera
Redmi Note 3 smartphone has a 16-megapixel sensor camera with wide F/2.0 aperture. We were able to capture images with good detail in landscape and macro shots in daylight. Color reproduction is also good. However, the object in focus did not appear to have much sharpness when zoomed too far. Pictures looked very good on the phone’s display.

Even during artificial lighting, there was some problem in sharpness and depth of the pictures taken with the camera. Photos don’t look too bad even in low-light. The dual tone LED flash works well for nearby objects but don’t expect too much from it. 1080p video recording is good but due to no stabilization software in video recording, stability was not seen. The front camera takes good selfies in daylight with a wide F/2.0 aperture.

battery life
With the 4050 mAh battery provided in the phone, we could play videos continuously for 12 hours 21 minutes. The phone’s battery lasted for more than a day without turning on battery saving mode. The phone is equipped with Qualcomm’s quick charge feature but we were able to charge the Redmi Note 3 only 20 percent in half an hour. We wouldn’t call it super quick charging but it’s better to have something than nothing.

our decision
The price of 2 GB RAM and 16 GB storage variant of Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 is Rs 9,999 and the price of 3 GB RAM and 32 GB storage is Rs 11,999. Having all these specifications at this price makes it very special. Xiaomi has partnered with ‘Hungama’ to provide streaming service with 2 months free subscription to the users.
It is very difficult to find any fault in Xiaomi Redmi Note 3. The metal body and fingerprint sensor given in Redmi Note 3, launched in 2016, are given for the first time in a Xiaomi device. The phone has a display, powerful battery and processor. The camera is also not bad, however, the sharpness of its photos and HD quality videos could have been better. We could expect more than 32 GB of storage in the phone and having NFC support could make it a complete package phone.
Keeping a few things aside, we think the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 can easily fit in among the best smartphones under Rs 15,000 available in the market today. If you have to choose between Redmi Note 3 and LE One, our vote will definitely go to Redmi Note 3.
