Zomato Delists Restaurant as 10 Year Old Girl Died Eating Cake on Her Birthday Owners Banned All Details

Recently, a 10-year-old girl died in Punjab after eating a cake ordered online from the Zomato app, after which the family alleged that the cake shop did not actually exist, but was replaced by some other one. The cake had come from the shop, which pointed towards the negligence of Zomato. Now, the online food delivery platform has reportedly expressed grief over this unfortunate incident and has taken action against the restaurant. The company says that it immediately delisted the restaurant from its platform and has also permanently banned its owner. Apart from this, the company has also said in its statement that it is fully cooperating with the investigating authorities.

TOI’s AccordingIn a recent incident, Zomato has issued a statement and also informed that it has delisted the restaurant whose cake led to the death of a 10-year-old girl in Patiala, Punjab. The company has also claimed to permanently ban the restaurant owner. Expressing its condolences in its statement, the company wrote, “We are deeply saddened by the recent incident in Patiala. We have immediately removed the restaurant and barred the owner from operating on our platform. “We are cooperating fully with law enforcement officials in their investigation.”

Let us tell you that the incident took place on March 24, the day the girl celebrated her birthday and she died just a few hours later. The family told that before this he had also vomited and then he also had trouble in breathing. Other members of the family also fell ill after eating the cake. The family says that “the cake was ordered online around 6 pm and by 11 pm, everyone who ate the cake fell ill.”
