Zoom Workspace AI Collaboration Platform Launched With New Features

The company has a blog post announced the launch of Zoom Workspaces via Zoom, stating that users can find new features on the new version of the Zoom app for desktop (6.0 or later). It is available to all paid subscribers at no extra cost. Free users currently do not have access to Zoom Workspaces, which means they will have to purchase Zoom Pro, which is the platform’s cheapest paid plan, priced at Rs 13,200 per year, to take advantage of AI features.
The videoconferencing platform has also shared details of its Zoom AI Companion, an AI assistant designed to perform multiple tasks. It is claimed that AI Companion transcribes audio with 95 percent accuracy and gives results 4 times faster than OpenAI’s GPT-4 based ChatGPT web client. Zoom did not disclose information about the AI assistant, including which large language model (LLM) is powering it.
Chatbots provide multiple functions like summarizing meetings, brainstorming ideas, drafting chat messages and emails, etc. In particular, users will get features like integrating chatbot with Zoom Phone and post-call summaries, voice mail prioritization and many more. Additionally, Zoom has added a new Meeting tab, which comes with calendar support and a detailed view that shows the entire meeting lifecycle as well as all the files and information shared before and during the meeting. The interface comes with a handy toolbar, a multi-speaker view, and four color themes, providing a better experience than the standard interface.
New functions are also available in Zoom’s team chat. Users will be able to see channel-related assets, whiteboards and resources in a single view. These tools can be used inside a chat layout, allowing users to talk with other people accessing them at the same time.
